The necessity of highway guardrails designed for maximum road safety, minimum damage accidents and for protecting the drivers, vehicles and walkers is now recognized worldwide. The preparation of a safe driving environment is so important that it can not be denied when the value of human life is considered.

Gonvarri Road Steel guardrails manufactured in series and in accordance with world standards are subjected to hot dip galvanizing process in TS 914 EN ISO 1461 standards.

Kilometers of guardrails production and assemblies have been carried up to now domestically and abroad in factories in 4 different countries and through Çepaş Road Steel which is located in Turkey and which is the branch of Gonvarri Road Steel reaching all the world.

Çepaş Road Steel, produces turnkey products including design, manufacture and assembly together. All products have successfully passed crash tests from N2 to H4b. The 3rd Bosphorus Bridge and The Northern Marmara Motorway Project which is 245 km long, The İstanbul-İzmir Motorway Project and The 120 km Tunisian Project are among the projects that they are used.

Çepaş designs, manufactures, supplies and installs different types of safety barriers as singles ("BMS") as doubles ("BMD"), with W-beam profiles (A and B ), high containment levels (HI and H2), in accordance with the EN 1317-2 European Standard.

The "TRIONDA H2L/H2LR" vehicle restraint system is composed of a steel safety barriers that has been fully manufactured from galvanized steel and its design guarantees a high degree of restraint and safety in shoulders and central reservations.

The "TRIONDA H2L/H2LR" barriers successfully passed the full scale crash tests, according to the European Standard EN 1317-2 for h2 containment level (TB51 test with a 13,000 kg bus at 70 km/h and 20° and the TB11 test with a 900 kg car, at 100 km/h and 20°). Working Width is W5 and the Impact Severity index is Class A.

The "VGH-960" system is a double removable metallic safety barrier completely made from galvanized steel, designed to allow slight lateral movement with the colliding vehicle. The system incorporates a wheel device to allow both the movement and opening. "VGH-960" barrier is specially designed for median-passes, work zones, lane division and separate use.

This barrier has successfully passed the full scale crash-tests according to EN 1317-2 for the h2 containment level (TB51 test with a 13.000 kg bus, at 70 km/h and 20° and TB11 test with a 900 kg car, at 100 km/h and 20°).

The" SPM" Motorcyclist Protecting System is a continuous protection device installed on a steel barrier that guarantees the protection of motorcyclists who hit the said barrier. On the one hand, it prevents the motorcyclist from hitting the post directly and, on the other hand, it prevents him from sliding under the gap between two consecutive posts, which would leave him exposed to dangers (obstacles, slopes, etc.) being protected by the barrier.

Çepaş has SPM system adapted on different barrier types: single steel barrier with spacer and C-120post every 4m ("SPM-es4") and every 2m ("SPM-es2"), with tubular post and spacer every 4m ("SPM-es4TUB"); single steel barrier with double W- beam, put on top ("SPM-es2sUp"); single steel barrier with IPN-120 post every 4 m ("SPM-is4"); beam aesthetic guardrails ("SPM-Beam-n2s4r"), etc.

Çepaş’s SPM have passed the full scale crash tests with dummies, in accordance with the UNE 135 900 Spanish Standard (dummies with a weight of 86,5 kg, at a speed of 60 km/h and an angle of 30°), with the minimum severity level (level i). Some of them offer the Protection Level of 70 km/h ("SPM-es4", "SPM-es2”)

Çepaş manufactures, supplies and installs metallic bridge-vehicle parapets with different Containment levels: High (H2, H3) and Very High Containment (H4b), called "PMH-13" "PMH-16" and "PMH-38" respectively. These metallic safety barriers have been specially designed for bridge deck sides (bridges, viaducts, etc.), the top section of retaining walls and other similar works.

The "PMH-13" Steel Bridge-vehicle parapet has passed the full scale crash tests, according to the EN 1317-2 European Standard, for the h2 containment level (TB51 test of a bus, with a weight of 13.000 kg, at a speed of 70 km/h and an angle of 20° and theTB11 test of a light car, with a weight of 900 kg, at a speed of 100 km/h and an angle of 20°).

The "PMH-16" Steel Bridge-vehicle parapet has passed the full scale crash tests, in compliance with the EN 1317-2 European Standard, for the h3 containment level (TB61 test of a rigid truck, with a weight of 16.000 kg, at a speed of 80 km/h and an angle of 20° and the TB11 test of a light car, with a weight of 900 kg, at a speed of 100 km/h and an angle of 20°).

The "PMH-38" Steel Bridge-vehicle parapet has passed the full scale crash tests, in compliance with the EN 1317-2 European Standard, for the h4b containment level (TB81 test of an articulated truck, with a weight of 38.000 kg, at a speed of 65 km/h and an angle of 20° and the TB11 test of a light car, with a weight of 900 kg, at a speed of 100 km/h and an angle of 20°).

The "BEAM" aesthetic guardrails are made of wood and steel and combine the restraint capacity of its steel core with the natural and rustic appearance of wood, to guarantee safety in areas where the aesthetic integration with the environment is a must: natural parks, mountain roads, urban and rural areas, tourist sites, etc.

The "BEAM-N2" aesthetic wooden and steel guardrail, with posts every 4 m and every 2 m, has passed the full scale crash tests, in accordance with the EN 1317-2 European Standard with n2 containment level (TB32 test for a car with a weight of 1,500 kg, at a speed of 110 km/h and an angle of 20°, as well as the TB11 test for alight car, with a weight of 900 kg, at a speed of 100 km/h and an angle of 20°).

The "AIR" redirective crash cushions are fully manufactured with galvanized steel and have a compact, open and exposed design that is easy to inspect.

The "AIR" redirective crash cushions have passed the full scale tests, in accordance to the acceptance criteria specified during each restraint containment level, as described in the EN 1317-3 European Standard.

The "AIR" redirective crash cushion have been specially designed for the protection against frontal impacts in exit turns, the start of central reserves, rigid obstacles that can not be protected with safety barriers, among others.

These crash cushions can be repaired easily and swiftly after the impact of a car and many of its structural elements can be reused.

Çepaş manufactures, supplies and installs acoustic barriers (also called “noise barriers") to eliminate airborne noise in roads, railroads and industrial installations. Çepaş offers different types of barriers:

  • Metallic sound absorbing barriers (steel/aluminium).
  • Transparent methacrylate barriers.
  • Mixed transparent-metallic barriers (different configurations, with continuous or discontinuous windows).

The acoustic properties of the barriers manufactured by Çepaş have been tested in a laboratory, in accordance with the EN 1793 European Standard. The mechanical properties are guaranteed with analytical calculation processes, in accordance with the specific characteristics of each case.
